'Tis the future, the immediate future anyway. California adopted a new law where car owners can participate in car sharing programs by loaning their car out to approved club members. The users get to use cars when necessary (presumably rarely) without the cost and bureaucratic barriers to car ownership. The lenders get value out of their investment during times that they don't need their car. Imagine driving into work everyday and paying $100/month for that parking space. Sucks right? Free parking is a God given right, amiright? Well, if you participate in this program, while your car is parked in the garage and sitting idle while you work, you can put it on loan to downtown residents who need to run to wherever those downtown living, non-homeowning vagrants wanna go. Oh, that's me. Forget what I said.
