So the American Insitute of Architects, like all professional organizations, is fond of doling out various awards here and there for excellence in the field. Too many times I found myself banging my head against a wall as the likes of Zaha Hadid et al were winning awards for the novel, the outrageous, the ahem, unbuildable.
While the selection of jury members typically has more to do with the winners than one project's merit versus another, perusing the recently announced winners of the AIA Housing awards... I'm quite impressed. Take a look at them yourself.
